Short description

Bambu Guesthouse is a large comfortable lodge located in the Central American country of Panama near the small fishing

village of Puerto Lindo. 
It is built on the flank of a mountain on the edge of the National Park of Portobelo overlooking the Caribbean sea.

This park protects forested coastal mountains, 70 km coastline and Caribbean waters, precious mangrove forests and coral reefs.

The lodge  is run by a Belgian (Flamish) couple, Claudine and Gilbert.

We speak Dutch, French, German, English and Spanish.

The guesthouse takes its name from the large tropical garden with a hudge variation

of wild bamboo bushes and exotic fruit trees.

The upper floor is partly a shared terrace where guests can enjoy

there breakfast from 8:00 to 10:00 AM with a nice ocean view.

	The Bambu : The Bambu is a triple room with a queen size bed and a small 1-person bed. Ideal for parents with a child for example. The rooms have fan, private bathroom and the doors open to the spacious rear patio. Directions

By public transport:

In Panama City you take the Express bus to Colón. Just before Colón in Sabaitas get off at the El Rey supermarket. There you take the bus to Costa Ariba (the last bus leaves at 4:00 pm) to Puerto Lindo. The Bambu Guest House is located just before Puerto Lindo on a hilltop on the right side of the road. The ride from Panama City is about 3 / 4 hours.
If you miss the last bus to Costa Ariba than you can also take the bus to Portobelo and take a taxi (25 min $ 10) from there.

By car from the airport:

A taxi can be best addressed through our control. We have a fixed rate of USD 80, while you quickly pay USD 150 !

Upon simply request, we can arrange your transportation from the airport Tocumen in Panama-city to our guesthouse.

If you arrive by car, make sure you take the Corredor Norte to Colón. Keep the direction of Colón until you see on your right a large supermarket (El Rey). Turn right after El Rey direction Portobelo. By driving to Portobelo on the intersection Nombre de Dios / Isla Grande, take direction Isla Grande. After about 10 minutes you see a Yacht Club on your left, past the hill there is a sign Bambu Guesthouse and there it is!

In its tropical garden, on the pleasant covered terrace of El Caballo Loco, above a river, Maryse will make you enjoy the delicious meals her husband Lionel, chef, will have prepared for you.
With his 20 years experience in France and in the Reunion Island, Lionel will be able to charm you with his secret own specialties. For example :
