Welcome to Balu Krishnan's Home Page

Myself Balu Krishnan, is a Ph.D. Candidate in the department of Electrical Engineering, Arizona State University. Advised by Dr. Leonidas Iasemidis, my primary research interest lies in understanding the dynamics of human brain in epilepsy. My work compromises of interictal discharges (which is my Ph.D. dissertation), epileptogenic focus localization, seizure control using VNS therapy etc. Please go through my research interest for a detailed review of my work.

I am an Electrical Engineer by profession and I pursue my doctorate in the field of Signal Processing. I approach brain research from a systems perspective.  The human brain according to my understanding is a bayesian inference machine, understanding how it work will be the next major leap for mankind.

I did my undergraduate education at College of Engineering, Trivandrum. Before pursuing my Ph.D, I had a short career as a programmer analyst at MindTree Consulting, Bangalore.

I am planning to graduate with my Ph.D. by May 2012, and is looking for academic and industrial positions.

I believe in reasoning and believe that every process in the universe has a pure scientific reason associated with it.
