Tony Goodnow - Topeka, Kansas

In 2007 Tony became the 3rd Goodnow to earn their Pilot's Certificate preceded by his mother, Connie, and his father Jerry.  He grew up around ballooning, crewing with his family as much as possible and taking his first ride at age two, began his flight training in at age 14 and made his first solo flight at age 16, but soon let ballooning take a back seat to being a teenager, thanks in part to his high school sweetheart, Julie. They are now married and are getting their 5 children involved in ballooning before their teenage years set in and they realize it isn't "cool" to get up at 5:00 in the morning to hang out with Mom and Dad in a dew covered field.

Tony is the 2009 President of the Great Plains Balloon Club, and Julie holds the 2009 Secretary position.  Together they produce and edit the GPBC's monthly newsletter  "Hot Air Highlights", and maintain the GPBC website.

Tony is employed by Midwestern Metals / Custom Dredge Works doing design and CAD work as well as scheduling  jobs, ordering material, and leading special projects.
