Happenings

Welcome to the 6th Grade Website!

On this page, you will find information about upcoming activities and field trips, see pictures of what your kids have been up to in school, and find links that will help your child be successful in his/her first year of middle school.

This is also where you will find the weekly syllabus for each class and a monthly calendar
of long-term projects and upcoming tests that will hopefully prove to be helpful to both you and your child as juggling multiple teachers and assignments is new for most 6th graders - and many 6th grade parents!

Updates:
Progress Reports:  Progress reports will go home on Friday, May 18th.  Please sign and return these to school as soon as possible.

Upcoming Field Trips:  Our Arboretum Field Trip has been rescheduled for Friday, May 18th.  We really need some parent helpers, so please consider joining us on that trip!  Email your child's homeroom teacher if you are able to come with us to the Arboretum.

Information will be coming home soon about the June 1st Sports Club trip, and we will be looking for chaperones (and drivers) for that one, so mark the date on your calendars!

Book Orders:  The next Book Orders will be handed out in May.

Weekly Specials:

During each week, 6th graders will attend specials as well as their four core academic subjects of Math, English, Science and Social Studies.  The specials 6th graders have each week are:  PE (2 times), Conservatory (2 times), and UA (3 times).  Sixth graders also have Spanish (3 times) as well as one tutorial (work period with teacher help available) and one advisory period.

Below is the specials schedule for 6th graders. Students should be prepared with sneakers (for PE) or an instrument (for Conservatory) on the designated day.
UA rotates between Drama, Art, Communication Skills and Organization Skills with students focusing on one class each term.
