Baker Dances the Night Away Congratulations to Baker eighth graders as they successfully hosted this year’s Sock Hop. In previousyears, helpful parents organized this event, but this year our eighth graders demonstrated incredible leadership and managed virtually all aspects of the Sock Hop. They made posters, decorated the gym, and sold tickets and food. Their efforts really paid off as two thousand dollars was raised for student scholarships for the annual eighth grade to New York. Students wish to thank Mr. Collins (husband of Spanish and health teacher, Ms. Collins) for demonstrating amazing skills as DJ. Ms. Brandl, Mr. Howe, Ms. Perkins, and the entire sixth, seventh, and eighth gradeteam also contributed to the success of this event.
A Special Thanks to UDP Parents Grade Four recently completed the UnderstandingDisabilities Program (UDP) under the leadership of Baker parent Mrs. Stacey Nevins and Vice Principal Linda Rodriguez-Hutson. New Hand Dryers A few weeks ago, Student Council Representatives Stephen Fitzmeyer and Serena Roderick advocated for hand dryers to Deputy Superintendent Peter Rowe and Building Coordinator Charlie Simmons. Their Powerpoint presentation must have been very convincing because the following week the hand dryers were installed in the bathrooms outside the office and in the cafeteria. Congratulations to the Council for meeting their goal! Go Green! | Reminders
