It's not too late to sign up for Junior Jazzercise, sponsored by the Baker-Butler PTO!!

Junior Jazzercise involves a warm-up, an aerobic dance segment, a music-based group game, age-appropriate strength training, and a cool down.
►5-week program beginning Tuesday, January 17.
►5 Tuesdays: January 17, 24, 31, February 7 &14, from 2:30pm-3:30pm in the gym.
►Cost: $35 per child (with 20% sibling discount).
►Open to children in grades 1–5. (Enrollment extended until first class, next Tues!)
*10% of the proceeds get donated to the PTO!

Please see the attached flyer and waiver. You can return the signed waiver and payment to the PTO (please include your child's name, grade, and your contact information). Instructor Jennifer Schwabel (jschwabel@gmail.com) can answer any questions.

Friendly Fundraising:

         With the help of Baker-Butler families, in 2010-2011 the PTO raised $25,000 for our school!

 

Taking Care of Our Teachers:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO paid over $9,000 for teacher incidentals to offset the cost of items used in the classroom and for training.

 

Caring for Our Community:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO provided $1,500 to the Principal’s Discretionary Fund to help Baker-Butler families in need.

 

Energizing Extracurriculars:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO gave $1,500 to provide new Gym equipment, new instruments for Music, and supplies for Art.

 

Access to Authors:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO gave the library $1,500 to bring in authors from the

Virginia Festival of the Book.

 

Let’s Have Lunch:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO purchased and installed the 6 new Baker-Butler blue picnic tables located around the playgrounds and courtyards for $4,600.

 

Revitalizing Recess:

         In Spring 2011, the PTO provided each classroom with a new set of playground equipment.

 

Broadening Books:

         At the end of the 2010-2011 school year, the PTO provided the library with $2,000 to purchase multicultural books.

 

Funding Field Trips:

         In 2010-2011, the PTO provided each grade level with a total of $5,000 in funds to help offset the cost of field trips.

  • The Yearbook Club needs your pictures! Have you or your child taken pictures at a PTO event, school performance, after-school club, or anything related to Baker-Butler?! Then we NEED your pictures for the Yearbook! Please send pictures to nikkibessette@yahoo.com as soon as possible. The team will start building the book on 1/30! **Please note that Yearbook sales will now begin on March 19!!**




  • FIVE GUYS NIGHT!
    This Wednesday, the 25th

    Have dinner with friends and family at Five Guys in the Hollymead Town Center from 5-8pm. Students can color/design their own snowman pictures and be eligible to win one of two Five Guys' gift certificates! 10% of all profits during that time go back to our school!
