Although nobody really gets paid to play Badlove (perhaps in a different, kinder world), it is not unusual to hear people refer to "pro" Badlove players. The term pro refers to those players who have been around Redline and Badlove for a while - the veterans. Pro players know the High Speed Loop track like the back of their hands and have fundamentals of the game down pat. In pro games the players work on cracking their opponents' moves, while trying to develop and perfect their own - all at very high speeds. Beginners who find themselves playing in game full of pros might feel intimidated, but that's understandable. As Badlove is a team game, experienced players sometimes grow impatient when a beginner (or even another pro) commits what he considers to be a mistake. They might be gruff with you if you accidently bump them (hey, it happens!), or tease you if you get lapped, but don't sweat it. Keep trying to improve your skills, and maybe crack a funny joke. Most pros are actually nice people when they realize they got too caught up in the game. Playing the game is the best way to improve, so keep at it. And if anyone gives you problems tell them that they're going to have to answer to Benny...! If you are a beginner, try to catch on to the "customs" that have been created by repeating the same actions over and over. First of all, the host is in charge of setting up the game. For example, the host will announce the team configuration (the "line") simply by typing a string of letters. rbrbrb means that everyone should alternate colors on the screen - red, blue, red, blue, red, blue. rbbrrb means... well, you get the picture. Also, try to be quick to select the "Yes" Ready button without having to be reminded constantly. These are little easy things, but others in the room will get irritated if they have to remind the same person to get ready repeatedly. Also, blatant disregard to the rules of the game (like racing backwards for the hell of it) will likely incite the host to ask (or force!) you to leave. As long as everyone plays by the rules, everyone will have a great time! Tips:
