When you encounter an enemy, you adopt one of two mentalities: either try to avoid him and speed away, or try to engage him in a fight. Sometimes, particularly if your team has the lead, it's best to try and avoid contact in order to keep the race moving quickly. If no one is slowing down to fight, it is difficult for the opponent to catch up. This is, however, Badlove, and you will fight before long! Knowing the right time and the right way to fight will make you an asset to your team. (More to come here)
Some tips:- If you are about to collide with an enemy, or if the enemy is trying to pit you from behind, holding the handbrake (<space>) and being in as low a gear possible will both help you to retain stability and prevent you from spinning out so easily.
- Check your rear view (<command>) until it becomes a habit. You will be better prepared to defend yourself against an enemy attacking from behind if you see what he is trying to do to you.
If your teammate is behind, it is easiest to stall an enemy right near a sharp corner, as they have to slow down in order to turn. Trying to stop someone on a straightaway is riskier.
- Don't fight too much! Sometimes you can gain an advantage when an enemy thinks you will battle him, but instead you just zip right by!
