FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

TEN FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is Badjao Missionary Team a mission agancy or some organization?

Ans: No, we're a movement but we're affiliated to an agency - the South East Asia Mission Team (SEAMIST), that's focusing on the unreached peoples groups in the Southeast Asia.

2. Are you recruiting members always and how do I become a member?

Ans: Yes, our recruitment of members is on a constant basis. Laborers are always needed for our outreaches and you too can be a member by contacting us through our contact address.

3. Do you pay your members salary or some allowance?

Ans: No we don't pay anyone any money. Every member is a volunteer, who's ready to sacrifice his/her money and time for the great commission.

4. Do you solicit for funds?

Ans: Yes, but we do that through our affiliate organization - SEAMIST. So if you want to donate to us, please contact SEAMIST now by clicking this link www.seamist.org/give.php   and please specify the project you're giving to.

5. Are you also reaching the Badjao outside the Philippines?

Ans: No, our focus for now is the Badjao in the Philippines

6. Do you plant churches?

Ans: Sure, we do, but mostly indigenous churches, whereby we encourage the Badjao to grow a purely Badjao church.

7. Do you own the churches you plant?

Ans: Not in all cases. But our policy is to exit whenever an indigenous church has been planted by our members. So mostly what we do is to encourage the Badjao to be fully involved in their church.

8. Are your team members only Filippinos and can any other nationality be your member?

Ans: Our members also include Christians from other nationalities, so people from other nationalities/races can join our team.

9. Do you provide some kind of training for your recruited members?

Ans: Definitely we do! We pay serious attention to training and retraining, especially those who don't have any pre-training in missions. In fact all our training is usually very short (one to two days) and it's at no cost to our members - it's free!

10. Do you work in partnership with other churches and organizations?

Ans: Yes, as we pay particular attention to net-working and that's the reason why we encourage churches to come and adopt churches we plant among the Badjao. Further to that most of our members are members of churches and other Christian organizations, who undertake to sponsor them while working with us. We therefore encourage churches to release their willing members to us and be ready also to support them financially.
