About the ProgramThe Business of Art & Design program features two Associate of Applied Science Degree curricula, one in Digital Art & Design with concentrations available in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visualization & Interactive Design, and Creative Technologies, and a second in Product Design & Development with a concentration in Wood Design and Technology. Additionally, certificate programs in Arts Leadership, Arts Entrepreneurship, and Arts Marketing are in development. Currently, courses are only available to Juniors and Seniors at Halifax County High School through a dual-enrollment collaboration with Danville Community College, but beginning spring 2009 Digital Art & Design curriculum courses will be offered to adult learners enrolled at DCC, and as early as fall 2009 in the Product Design & Development curriculum. About the CurriculumThe Curriculum for the BA&D program will serve a diverse array of students from high school juniors and seniors to college-age learners and beyond. Our curriculum is forward-thinking, collaborative, service oriented, and uniquely entrepreneurial in nature with real-world coursework and business opportunities designed to prepare students for placement into design jobs as quickly as possible. Currently, courses are only available to Junior and Senior students in Halifax County High School through a dual-enrollment arrangement with Danville Community College, but adult learners enrolled at DCC will be able to take courses starting in the spring of 2009 in the Digital Art & Design curriculum, Students interested in more information about course offerings should check this page often, and also join course information mailing list here. |
