Shabbat Morning

On Saturday mornings, Shabbat observances begin with several Torah Study groups at 8:45 am, followed by Services at 10:30 am.

This year there are
4 Torah Study groups that meet, an introduction to Torah study with Rabbi Thomas, Torah study with traditional commentary with Cantor Lorel Zar-Kessler, Torah study through a Hasidic perspective with David Krieger, and a congregant-led Torah study. You can choose to drop by the Torah Study groups when you like or attend on a regular basis.

Our Shabbat morning service, beginning at 10:30, is filled with song, prayer, and learning.  It is followed by a luncheon open to the entire community.  Our Tot Shabbat for ages 0-5 and Kehillat Noar / Youth Community for ages 6-12 provide opportunities for children to participate on Shabbat mornings on scheduled dates.  (see the Beth El Calendar and the Families with Young Children page for dates and more information).

The following provides information about the upcoming Shabbat, however, no need to click.

Meet Rabbi David Thomas and read some his sermons and general writings.

Meet Cantor Lorel Zar-Kessler and read some of her sermons and general writings and listen to her shared music.
