I'm reasonably intelligent by most measures, but can still feel as dumb as a box of rocks by others. (An occasional "doh!" helps to keep you humble.) I'm nowhere near perfect, but I try very hard to be the great person my kids and my greyhound think I am. For 48, I'm in halfway decent condition. My marathon training brought my weight down to around 150 pounds, which is just about right for my 5'8" frame. From a running standpoint, I could still stand to drop a couple of pounds. I'm getting ready to run the Boston Marathon for the third time, so I'm currently running through this miserable winter and hoping the weather improves soon. My kids gave me some nice cold weather gear, so I don't have too many excuses left. I've never really been a fitness fiend, but running through the winter might just mean I'm heading toward fiend-ness. I do find that I'm happier when I run. I guess it's the "runner's high", it does put some good natural "drugs" into your bloodstream. I have a GREAT time running the Good Times 5K Series in Lowell on Tuesday nights from April to the end of August. If you stop by, make sure you say hi to the old guy with long hair.
