Ram Island Ledge & Halfway Rock
Ram Island Ledge & Halfway Rock
Testing out the 300mm telephoto lens I just bought for the Nikon. Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse (foreground) is easily visible from shore in all but heavy fog, but Halfway Rock Light (background, to the right) is ten miles offshore and almost invisible without binoculars. With the lens cranked all the way out to 300mm and using a tripod, I was able to take this, the only clear picture I've ever gotten of this lighthouse from shore.
