Marcus' Little Feet...Growing

I am SO GLAD my brother and his wife, Kelly, live next door to me. Yesterday I happened to be in my yard when I saw my brother's car coming home. I loved the sight I saw when he opened the back door of his car to get Marcus out of his car seat. The little guy was fast asleep....but his little hands were clutching his stuffed Dolphin. I had to take a shot of it....to show the adorable sight I saw when the door opened. I guess they have a routine if he is asleep and it happens to be around naptime. He goes straight in the house and is easy to get right back to sleep.....WELL.....that is unless Aunt Lisa completely messes up the routine. I was so happy to see this little tyke....that when his little sleepy eyes opened and I smiled at him..saying his name.....I reached for him and he reached for me. BIG MISTAKE.... I totally messed up my poor brother's routine.....I think when Marcus sees Aunt Lisa it is "playtime".....he was one hour late going down for his nap. Not a good way to help my brother out on his day off.....He was very kind..but I can remember back to how wonderful nap time was, not only for the baby...but for the parent who needs to get things done and who needs to deal with a "happy baby" after a nice nap of being refreshed. I can't believe Marcus will be "2" years old on November 21.....time sure does fly.

Dear Lucy,

Lucy-Lucy-Lucy, how I've noticed some changes in her after the surgery. I brought her for a walk this morning. After the walk we went to Subway to pick up lunch for J and I. I parked right in front of the door, I thought maybe it would be okay to leave the windows all the way open since it usually is. As I went to shut the door, Ms. BABY GIRL almost jumped out of the window from the back seat [let me remind you that I drive a convertible beetle-which does not have much room to jump from the back out the window]. She jump out so her paws landed only on the outside of the car. At that moment in time I thought she had nearly lost her DOG MIND! This has never happened. I then told her she has lost her right to have air. I put the windows up so she could have a little bit of air and as I went to shut the door Ms. BABY GIRL started to whine and cry. Again, she has lost her DOG MIND!!! She cannot be a foot away from us at all since the surgery. She's usually already clingy but OHMYDOG is she worse. We leave her for a second and she's right in our lap. She does not want to be left alone. She has those green eyes on us at all moments. When I was gone for one night, J said she didn't sleep at all. She was pacing back and forth on the bed. So this weekend she's going to have some crate time and have Lucy Alone Time.
