I want to ride my motobecane!
I woke up this morning early to go out for a quick ride before leaving town--only to find that its still raining. I'm bummed and I'm certainly not riding her, with a brand new Brooks saddle, out in the rain. So I'll just obsess and take more pictures of course. After an afternoon at my favorite bike shop in Wicker Park, this baby is riding --like a well oiled machine...just a bit over 24 hours after my uncle gave it to me. It was filthy, the chrome had surface rust, the front hub was so bent that it wouldn't even roll. Now she's decked out with a new front hub, a leather saddle (for that sophisticated european style), and a seat cable. The mechanic was so impressed with the shape of it. He said that she will switch over flawlessly to a single speed, but didn't want to do it because its such a fine specimen--equipped with all original french parts in terrific shape, etc. So I'm gonna ride it a bit and decide...and decide on the gear I want it stuck in...
Grocery panda
Took this a while back to record the absurd amount of groceries i managed to cram in around Anastasia. She's been very fussy about legroom lately, so sometimes she has to share the seat with a few bags of leafy things and a loaf of bread. Note also the fancy sharrow and the concrete paving, although I guess if you are interested in that kind of thing, you don't need me to tell you to notice it.
