B-29 Museum Inc.: Our Mission

The mission of the B-29 Museum Inc. organization is to celebrate the history and to document this experience of Kansas Army Air Fields and their influence on associated communities during WW II; and to complement and contribute to the Pratt All Veterans Memorial Complex as a community resource and gathering place where we observe, explore and preserve this story for future generations.

B-29 Museum Inc.: Our Values

Our Core Values are celebrating history, understanding our heritage, and strengthening community, which guide the B-29 Museum Inc. organization.

We celebrate history by:
Establishing National Registered Historic structures which become holdings of B-29 Museum Inc. Organization and become part of the Pratt All Veterans Memorial Complex,

Embracing responsibility for maintenance, restoration and operation of these structures,

Researching, preserving, and sharing – through exhibits, stories, and documented experiences –
the human history of the military participants who trained at these Kansas Army Air Fields and the civilian populations of nearby communities who supported them,

Complementing and integrating with existing Memorial displays,

We understand our heritage by:

Honoring the heritage of the community organizations, institutions, businesses and others whose energy, vision and patriotism contributed to this regional legacy,

Emphasizing that the legacy of the past, influences who we are today, and provide lessons to building a sustainable future,

Treasuring our historical military significance and advocating for its preservation,

Inviting people to learn, remember and celebrate our important role in WW II history,

Protecting and preserving the historical properties of the Pratt Army Air Field.

We strengthen community by:
Recognizing that the success of our mission depends upon the involvement of residents of the City of Pratt and Pratt County in the mission of the B-29 Museum Inc. organization,

Collaborating with other nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, government agencies and private enterprises that share our core values,

Connecting with other Kansas communities whose people share a similar heritage.
