Aztec Dharma Bums

When we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
    — Dhammapada, 1.1-3

We are at odds with ourselves internally; we believe that the inner is fundamentally different than the outer, that what is me is quite separate from the not-me, that divisions among people and nations are necessary, and yet we wonder why there are tensions, conflicts, wars in the world. The conflicts begin with the minds that believe in fragmentation and are ignorant of wholeness.

Have some interesting information about meditation, world religions, philosophy, culture or art that you really want others to know?  Or ever wanted to research an intriguing concept or practice but never had the time?  NOW is your chance to be creative!  Each week there will be the opportunity for any member to present to the group a philosophical concept, cultural practice, meditation technique, form of art, or any other creative or introspective aspect of human existence having something to do with meditation. No pressure at all, these only have to be conversation starters and presentations don't have to be very long or very perfect.  Just sign up at the next meeting!
