University
of Maryland, Baltimore County [2002 - 2009]
Major: Biochemical Engineering, B.S.
Minor: Mathematics
Profile Information:
I have worked as an undergraduate research
assistant under the supervision of Dr. Leah Tolosa since freshman year. My main
research area is the development of glucose/galactose bind protein (GBP) and
glutamine binding protein (QBP) for novel biosensor testing. I conduct molecular
biology and biochemistry experiments from genetic manipulations to proteins
labeled with thiol-reactive probes. Many probes are tested on several positions
on designed binding protein computationally and experimentally. Recently, I
conducted experiments related to the fluorescence polarization of the dye-labeled
GBP and QBP.
My college organization activities include being UMBC Student
President for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and
Treasurer for the Taiwanese Student Association (TSA). I previous have maintained UMBC AIChE website and CAST wiki site.
I have many extracurricular activities interest, which includes playing
tennis during warm days and snowboard during winter time. Hobbies I often conduct: computer related activities (ie games, web
development, basic programing, academic softwares, etc ), watching
animes, and many others.
