Bio: Singer/songwriter Ayaan Renée heavily credits her background and budding music experience to her creativity as a female and as an inspiring musician. Born and raised in Nairobi (Kenya) Ayaan Renée learnt earlier on the value of developing a hardcore work ethic. She turned to music as an outlet, learning to play the guitar and piano, and listened to a mix of Afro- fusion, mainstream R&B, Hip-hop and Reggae. Her first serious music encounter was in high school, where she and a couple of friends formed a group called "Barikiwa" – meaning blessed in Kiswahili - this gave her the chance to get comfortable with writing her own melodies and performing in front of crowds. When Ayaan Renée went to college her musical aspirations began to take off on a new high; she joined the chorale, became a member of a gospel band "Unveiled”, later joined forces with an underground hip hop/ rock band Homestyle, who were instantly impressed by her vocal talent. Through that collaboration Ayaan Renée put her mark on two wonderful tracks: “Movin” and “Vibe”. Ayaan Renée has embarked upon a great journey, becoming the reality of her dreams.
