Philanthropic Opportunities

Ongoing National and Local Philanthropic Organizations

The women of Gamma Theta Gamma give back to our communities by participating in group events as well as providing individual and group donations.  GTG contributes to several organizations, including the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and the 1736 Family Crisis Center.

Each year, our members gather for an event where a certain percentage of the proceeds go directly to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation provides important domstic violence awareness programming to our collegiate members on college campuses.  Our local philanthropy is the 1736 Family Crisis Center, which supports victims of domestic violence. This center, with facilities in the South Bay, Long Beach, & South Central Los Angeles, offers a comprehensive safety net of services including four 24-hour crisis hotlines, two community service centers, five domestic violence shelters for battered women and their children, & two runaway and homeless youth shelters. Our members hold a second fundraising event with proceeds going directly to the 1736 Family Crisis Center.  Additionally, we donate items for the Gift Store during the holidays, so that families can 'purchase' gifts for their family members using vouchers.

If you have any questions about our philanthropic organizations or would like to volunteer in any of these organizations, please do not hesitate to e-mail GTG's Altruism Chair, Danielle Bialek Perry at
daniellec6@gmail.com.

Heart Touch Project International

Danielle Bialek Perry is planning an art show benefit on Sunday, October 5, 2008 from 5-10pm in Santa Monica.  Proceeds will go to The Heart Touch Project International Outreach Programs (www.hearttouch.org).  Volunteers travel internationally to bring gentle touch to those affected by HIV/AIDS and other catastrophic illnesses.  The Heart Touch Project also works domestically providing compassionate touch to extremely ill newborns, hospice patients, domestic violence victims, and other isolated populations.

If you are interested in volunteering your time at this event (registration, food/drink servers, etc.), please email Danielle at daniellec6@gmail.com.  Thanks!
