Alpha Psi / UCLA Chapter Initiation Weekend
November 14-15, 2009
Have you heard the great news? Alpha Chi Omega is back at UCLA! The colonization efforts at UCLA were a big success – we have nearly 60 new members at Alpha Psi chapter! November is here, and with it comes several opportunities to help support our collegiate sisters at the newly re-opened Alpha Psi Chapter at UCLA.
Alpha Psi Initiation - Saturday November 14 9am - 1pm
UCLA Faculty Center 480 Charles Young Dr. East, Los Angeles 90024
Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to create initiation wreaths, installation banquet centerpieces, stuff initiation bags with letters, and prepare robes for the new initiates. The initiation ceremony begins promptly at 11 a.m. Alumnae are also welcome to attend the initiation ceremony as spectators (“pin attire”) and must arrive by 10:30 a.m.
Alpha Psi Installation Reception - Sunday November 15 1pm - 3pm
Alpha Psi Chapter House 638 Hilgard Ave., Los Angeles 90024
Come see the fantastic new renovations at the chapter house and visit with Alpha Chi Omega sisters. Our national president, Marsha Grady will be there, along with two of our national vice presidents, Angela Harris and Mary Winkler.

Write a 'Welcome Letter' to our new Alpha Psi Sisters
If you are unable to attend either event, but would still like to be involved, we are in need of congratulatory letters for the new initiates. Each initiate will be presented with a bag of these letters following the ceremony. If you would like to provide a one-page letter, congratulating the women on their special accomplishment, please email your letter to Audra audratv@yahoo.com by Friday, November 6. Your letter may be sent as part of the body of an email, or as an attachment in Word, PowerPoint or PDF. All letters will be printed in black & white.
Since Gamma Theta Gamma is chartered as the Alpha Psi chapter’s main alumnae support, these will be our only events for November. Please join us!!

October Kit-Making Event a Success
Great to see so many of you at our October event! Thanks to your participation and generosity, we were able to create about 45-50 ‘Exit Kits’ for the women at Los Angeles’ Downtown Women’s Center. The kits were filled with shampoo, lotion, toothbrush & tooth paste, and many of other personal items. In addition to the kits we made, the additional items were donated to the DWC for use in future kit-making needs. Thank you!

Many thanks to our Lori for getting all those potatoes cooked and ready to go for us. Along with our members’ donations of ‘toppings, drinks and dessert, we had a fantastic meal along with our meeting and project. Lastly, thank you to Linda Mack for hosting us at her home in Manhattan Beach.

Thank you to everyone who donated toward our ‘5x5 Auction’ – with your help, and with the terrific bids, we raised $400 for the Alpha Psi House Corporation! Please see a thank you letter on the Downloads page. The AP HCB worked hard to remodel and redecorate the first floor of Alpha Psi house at UCLA in preparation for our return to campus this fall. The next phase is the biggest project – a remodel of the upstairs bedrooms, bathrooms, study hall and living space. They definitely still need our support! www.AlphaPsiHousing.org
