Women in Mathematics conference at Brown University, September 17-18,
2011. This meeting, which is the grand finale event of AWM's 40th
anniversary, will also feature 4 plenary talks, 18 special sessions on
a wide range of topics in pure and applied mathematics and mathematics
education, a banquet, and opportunities for discussion and networking. Format: 25-30 women will be selected to present a poster. AWM will offer partial support for travel expenses for poster presenters. Eligibility: Applications are welcome from women who have received their PhDs within approximately the last three years and from graduate students who have made substantial progress on their doctoral thesis. All applications should include a cover letter a title and a brief abstract (no more than 1 page) of the proposed poster, a curriculum vitae, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or research mathematician who knows the applicant's research In particular, graduate students should have a letter of recommendation from their thesis adviser. Late applications and/or recommendation letters cannot be accepted. Decisions on applications are expected to be made by August 15, 2011. |
