Are you looking for an opportunity to participate in outdoor activities? Would you like to test yourself intellectually and emotionally to demonstrate leadership skills? Boy Scout Troop 293 is the right place for you. Located in Apple Valley, MN, Troop 293 has been operating for 25 years and has graduated over 30 Eagle Scouts. Regular activities include monthly weekend camping trips to Minnesota state parks, weekly Troop meetings, community service projects, Merit Badge courses, and one week during the summer at Tomahawk Scout Reservation in Rice Lake, WI. Troop 293 Scouts have the opportunity to take on leadership positions and are very involved in planning and running Troop events. Some of the recent Troop events include camping in the Boundary Waters, hiking at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, rock climbing at Taylor's Falls, and exploring Jay Cooke State Park through Geocaching. All boys who are interested in finding out more about Boyscouts can visit Troop 293 on Sunday, October 23rd at 5:30 pm at Community of Christ Church in Apple Valley. Troop 293 is having an Open House to provide information on what it's like to be a Scout, what Troop 293 does, and how boys can get started. There will be fun activities and food.
