Welcome to Avonside Bridge Club's eNoticeBoard. Avonside is located in the elegant Georgian city of Bath. We meet on Tuesday and Friday evenings for DUPLICATE BRIDGE in a friendly, but competitive atmosphere. We hold our bridge sessions in the large Georgian-style Bath Society Meeting Room at Green Park (above the Green Park Brasserie, near Sainsbury's). Green Park is a beautifully restored Victorian railway station a few minutes walk from the centre of Bath. Adjacent Free parking after 6.50pm. The Meeting Room is accessed by stairs (no lift). We regret that there are no disabled facilities available.
Our bridge evenings start at 7.15 promptly (please arrive by 7.05pm). Tea, coffee and soft drinks are included in the Table Money of £2 (members), £3 (visitors). The Annual Subscription is £15. Avonside is affiliated to the ENGLISH BRIDGE UNION (EBU), but master points are not issued.

CHRISTMAS PARTY. Our 2009 Christmas Party will be held on Friday 11th December starting at 7pm. Wine and soft drinks will be served. Please bring a food dish. TEAMS Bridge starting 8 - 1.15pm. Each pair will find the other half of their team and their table number by drawing an unseen card from a container. Prizes available. Everyone welcome, with or without a partner.

PARKING AT GREEN PARK Please ensure that you prominently display a parking permit in your vehicle. These are available at the Club, ask a committee member. Also, do not park in a "Disabled" bay without displaying the appropriate badge and do not park in any "Mother & Child" bays, even if there are several empty. This may mean parking outside the covered area. If you wish to be accompanied back to your car at the end of the evening, please see Lesley Atkins or the Director who will arrange an escort.
BATH BRIDGE CLUB and the FRENCH EXCHANGE. Bath Bridge Club are hosting a French Exchange visit in early July next year and have asked if Avonside would like to be involved at some stage during their visit. More details later....

EBU AFFILIATION. Our AGM was held on Tuesday 2nd June 2009 when the EBU affiliation vote was counted. The majority voted in favour of remaining affiliated to the EBU. Please note that the implementation of the EBU "Universal Membership & Pay2Play" scheme will take place in 2010. FIND A PARTNER. If you need a bridge partner, please contact DIANA BENHAM.
