Most guests drive, but Mildura is easily reached by air, coach, or rail & coach from Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide. Hire cars are available at the airport or we can meet you in our courtesy car.
The drive from Mildura to historic Wentworth, located at the junction of the Murray and Darling Rivers, takes only 25 minutes. From Wentworth, follow the Silver City Highway towards Broken Hill for 6 km then turn right at the Pomona turn-off. Stay on this Low Darling Road for 18.5 km until you reach the cart wheel on the right, marked ‘Avoca’. Turn in and follow the driveway for 2 km until you reach the homestead. Another good option is to fly direct to Wentworth aerodrome which is regularly used by light aircraft and air charter operators. Its services now include a self-serve aviation fuel card facility. We meet you on touch down and bring you here in 20 minutes, or you might like to have a quick look around the town first. Small group charters can be arranged with Kirkhope Aviation from Moorabbin direct to Wentworth.
There’s plenty at Wenty including houseboat operators from whom you can hire a houseboat and enjoy a leisurely two day cruise up the Darling to 'Avoca' for Tea, Tour, Lunch or Dinner.
