Improving decision making by learning how to reach win-win among multiple inner considerations with the negotiational self method.

The negotiational self method developed by Dina Nir in her Ph.D. thesis, is a tested training program designed to increase happiness and negotiation skills by improving one’s skill in resolving inner conflicts.  On the basis of the negotiational self theory (also developed by Dina Nir), people are asked to (a) map all the voices (considerations) that they have in a certain conflict (b) to state them as pro and con considerations, (c) to differentiate among considerations that are heard as positions (possible solutions) from those expressing interests (undeniable inner needs) (d) to discover all the interests (needs) underlying positions (e) to state all interests (needs) in a positive manner (f) to come up with a novel solution to the conflict that addresses all the interests (undeniable needs) and (g) to discuss the solution with a partner as to further improve the creativity of the solution.
