From maternity to birth, I specialize in capturing the spiritual journey of motherhood. At your maternity session, I strive to make every portrait unique, as all of us individuals are beautiful in our own uniqueness. At your birth, I quietly capture your labor and delivery, never interfering medically. My knowledge of birth stems from my own birth experience two years ago. I chose to have my son at home with a midwife, because I believed it was the safest and healthiest choice for my baby and I. I find this work extremely rewarding and carry love in my heart to those who put their trust in me, in the birth process, in themselves.

"I knew when I met Alicia for our maternity shoot that she was the perfect person to document my birth experience. She was professional and had a warm, gentle presence about her. A few weeks later, Alicia was summoned at 3:00 a.m. to come to my home for my son's birth,and she arrived promptly. Had my midwife not whispered in my ear, "Alicia's here," I would not have even known she was present. She was totally unobtrusive, respecting my quiet and my space for hours as I labored in the dark and birthed my son. In fact, her presence was so subtle that I was concerned afterwards that she may not have captured any good, close-up photos. A few days later, however, I was viewing absolutely phenomenal photos that made me tearful. Somehow, with such a subtle presence, Alicia had captured incredible moments, of me, my family members, and of my son making his way into the world. At a birth she empathizes with mother's for need to privacy. When photographing a birth, Alicia is quiet and unobtrusive yet is present; getting the birth shots that a family wants.
She also never interrupts the midwife's work with the birthing woman or baby.
Alicia has an artists eye and her skill in photography is obvious when viewing her photos. I wish I had her photographing my births."
