THE BEST RIAD IN MARRAKECH We stayed in Dar Bab Marrakech for 4 nights and WOW! What a great stay! We were looking for a Riad in the Medina that was a little more understated than your typical Morrocan Riad, something close to the sights, something small and intimate, and somthing that offered great service. We found all of those at dar bad marrakech. Let's start with the Riad itself. Very new, only a few months old and still very fresh. We loved the design. Elegant yet understated. The indoor 'waterfall' lends an air of calm and serenity. The terrace is a great place for breakfast and afternoon reading. The living room was very comfortable as well with lots of reading materials for your lazy afternoons. Our bedroom was very comfortable and adequately sized. The bed was fantastic, a good night's sleep everytime. A/C was cool and water pressure was strong. They offered breakfast with our rate and we had a an assortment of breads, pastries, jams and jellies, fresh juice and Moroccan mint tea (try it.. it's delicious!). The Riad is 5 mn walking distance from Jemma El Fna, Dar Si Siad, Koutobia, and other sights. Even though it's within the Medina walls, it's located in a quiet corner and you'll hear very little pedestrian noise or traffic which we found to be a big plus seeing how chaotic certain parts of the Medina can be. Olivier our host and his team are as good as they come. Very accommodating and very helpful. They'll be happy to give you advice on what to do, where to go, places to dine and everything else in between. They'll sincerely go out of their way to be of assistance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dar bab marrakech. We highly recommend it and found our stay to be flawless. Even if something did go wrong, we had a feeling that they would have done their absolute best to resolve it. There was a sincerity among them that made you feel right at home. We'll never forget it. On our walk Sebastian got very tired. We found nice spot where he could rest on the moss beneath the shade of a tree. There was a nice cool breeze off the water and I sat next to him on the log while he rested. The girls were playing nearby. You can see Mt. Ripinsky in the background, the top covered in the clouds. This was Sebastian’s special place. Until he became sick, Sebastian and Keith would hike to the top almost every weekend. Sometimes they made the climb on Saturday, only to turn around and do it again on Sunday. Haines Alaska, what a grand place for a true mountain dog to live, especially with a brother like Keith - they had so many great adventures on the mountain. Sebastian loved it. His heart and spirit belong on the top of that mountain.
