Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher Tyrannus forficatus 13" Long black and white tail feathers. Pale gray overall with a pinkish-red wash on the belly. This is a medium sized flycatcher with a forked tail that can be as long as 12". Pink wing linings (that can"t be seenin this pic.) light gray head and neck (that cant be seen well in this pic). Dark upper wings and tail surfaces. Males have longer tails than females. Tehy are summer residents in south - central US and usually reside in Central America in the winter. A few have been known to winter regularly in the Keys and South Fl as farn north as Paso and Hernando counties. keys...
