Every now and then business travel affords a perk. I got a chance to take in a ball game in St. Louis. I figure the Cardinals are the top NL franchise with, I believe, 9 world titles. The 1968 series between the Tigers and Cards was my favorite. Willie nailing Lou Brock at the plate still sticks in my mind like it happened last night. By the way, the Cards beat the Mets, which was great. Those who know me, know I have a ranking of things I hate. A Top 10 list. The top 4 rarely change: 1. Notre Dame 2. The New York Mets 3. Billy Crystal 4. SEC Football Billy Crystal I am sure goes without saying. Likely the same with the Domers and the SEC- neither invented football and are often Overrarted. As for the Mets, I just simply hate them. If Buckner stays on the short hop in 1986, we never talk about that annoying team and all would agree the 1984 Tigers were the best team of the 80's.
The Fatboy trophy
The Fatboy trophy
This is the champion's trophy for the Otto Knabe Baseball League.

The original trophy was the small bit on the right with the old baseball glued to the top. One of our franchise owners died so we revamped the trophy and named it after him.

I won the championship in 2003.
