Purpose and Background

I have decided to create this site in order to display some of my work.  Really, I merely hope that someone will enjoy viewing my works as much as I have enjoyed creating them. I have been writing fiction and poetry for a very long time now; probably since the time when I was first able to pick up a pen.  Okay, I was probably just drawing wavy lines and whatnot, but they were poems and stories in my head.

I have developed a passion for analyzing film, literature, and history for various reasons, which I will attempt to tell you about, without boring you,  now.  Growing up in a town with nothing better to do than read or watch films, I spent a lot of weekends and evenings in the theater or with my head in some book or another.  When I wasn't doing that, I was trying to play the piano or violin and write poetry.  And when I would tire of those things, I made a grand amount of movies with my Barbies or family in starring roles, or challenged myself to create the most interesting photography I was able to produce with a really cheap 110 camera (probably Hanimex).  Yes, my first camera had one of those tall flashcubes.  I also had one of those keychain micro 110 cameras.  It was my secret spy camera!

My interest in history is probably connected to the many summers my family would drive from one state to another in order to view the amazing wonders of natural or historical sites.  I have been to more museums than I can remember.  I have spent a great amount of my time traveling.  I've been all over the United States and to some parts of Europe and Mexico.  My mother is German, so that was the first place I visited in Europe.  I'm sure my family didn't know what they were creating until we visited Dublin and the first place I dragged them was to the Writers Museum.  But I fell in love with traveling and plan to continue.
