Pipes Valves And Fittings
fittings
- Items, such as a stove or shelves, that are fixed in a building but can be removed when the owner moves
- Installed items that may be removed from real estate without causing irreparable damage to the land, structure or use of the premises.
- items that can be removed from a property without causing damage to it.
- A small part on or attached to a piece of furniture or equipment
- Devices that may be attached to pipes to make connections or outlets.
- The action of fitting something, in particular
valves

- (valve) device in a brass wind instrument for varying the length of the air column to alter the pitch of a tone
- A membranous fold in a hollow organ or tubular structure, such as a blood vessel or the digestive tract, that maintains the flow of the contents in one direction by closing in response to any pressure from reverse flow
- A cylindrical mechanism in a brass instrument that, when depressed or turned, admits air into different sections of tubing and so extends the range of available notes
- (valve) control consisting of a mechanical device for controlling the flow of a fluid
- A device for controlling the passage of fluid through a pipe or duct, esp. an automatic device allowing movement in one direction only
pipes
- A cylindrical vein of ore or rock, esp. one in which diamonds are found

Pipe Valve Flanges & Asbestos Gaskets Galore
Significant airborne asbestos exposures can occur from damaged asbestos pipe flange gaskets. Gasket materials are oftentimes overlooked during asbestos surveys or they're considered unimportant on the scale of comprehensive surveys. Further, demolition personnel might not even be aware of or may disregard asbestos gasket concerns during pipe dismantlement activities, which tends to compound potential asbestos exposures to personal health, appropriate material handling, proper disposal or recycling of materials, and employer liability issues. Additionally, older pipe valves may also contain asbestos packing materials and present similar issues as those with asbestos pipe flange gaskets. Many of these contaminated, older pipe fittings and valves as shown were manufactured by companies such as Walworth, Crane Steel, Yarway, Powell, Jenkins, and Lunkenheimer.
