What Are Solenoid Valves

what are solenoid valves
    solenoid valves
  • (Solenoid valve) A solenoid valve is an electromechanical valve for use with liquid or gas. The valve is controlled by an electric current through a solenoid coil.
  • (Solenoid Valve) A quick-opening valve which is mounted on a pressurized tank. The opening of the valve generates a cleaning pulse which dislodges the dust from the filter elements.
  • (Solenoid Valve) An automatic valve operating under low voltage (24V AC) which may be remotely located in the landscape and controlled via a signal cable from the central controller (timer).
    what are
  • characteristic features of science and how science differs from other areas of human knowledge
  • Often, the population to be studied produces paired values, in other words, each individual or experimental result contributes a set of two values. This section briefly describes what bivariate data are.

I wondered what will happen to an ignited match when a water drop hits it. I set this up in such a way a water drop will be released by a solenoid valve once the flame sensor detected an igniting matchstick, then capture the collision thru proper timing. The result - The flame was not immediately distinguished after the water hits it, though our naked eye may be fooled to think so. An interesting phenomenon.

This is what it takes me to catch the water drops. A PLC which I programed just for this. A power supply, a IR detection sensor and in the next photo the solenoid valve, needle valve and push button swich to start the whole thing off.
