This Game is Good for All Levels
If you play this game as a Beginner Game, you will probably need to help your child with the game by showing him or her the video (assuming your child watches videos), then while someone is helping your child jump on a trampoline or bed, chant I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna get you, Bop! and throw a soft ball or pillow. As soon as the pillow hits your child, the person helping him or her jump, picks your child up and plops him/her on a soft surface. Your child may also want to play the second role, where you jump on the trampoline and chant You can't get me! You can't get me! until someone helps your child throw a soft ball at you and then, with great drama, you fall onto a soft surface. Over time, the goal is for your child to become increasingly independent in these roles. It will be easier for your child to learn the second role if you have a clear designated place for the Bopper to stand. As your child learns and enjoys this game, wait for your child to look at you before Bopping him or her--at least some of the time.If you play this game as an Intermediate Game, or an Advanced Game, make a big deal over who is the Jumper and who is the Bopper. You may have to start the game in the same way as you do in the instructions above but soon you should be able to discuss who will be the Bopper and who will be the Jumper. We often add the third role in this game as it is common for us to play the game with more than two people. We have chairs on the side where those waiting to play are Waiters. Then we take turns, letting the Waiter who get's a turn choose to be either a Bopper or a Jumper.
Below, on the Alternative Link, you can see a child playing the game.
