Dear Daisy
Author wrote Dear Daisy 1999-2003. Rising Sparrow Press was established December 2003 creating the foundation for publishing Dear Daisy June, 2004.
Dear Daisy never was submitted to an editor, publisher, agent...in fact, not even family or close friends read a single page before official copyright release.
Reader comments remain the interest of the author; the mystery of connecting through heart language. Dear Daisy was self-published to deliver the pure, unedited version of Jane Marla VerDow's first writings.
Rising Sparrow Press originally limited the number to a handful of mailings for professional reviews, all tailored to represent specific niche markets. By Publishing standards, extremely conservative. I knew this. Truth told, the path chosen for the book, Dear Daisy was more feeling the way on a barren path, an exploration rather than directing the book on any should travel road.
What interests this self-publishing author?
As the Author of Dear Daisy, hand signed copies floating somewhere…now that intrigues me. I wonder…and…I smile, knowing someday those copies will reappear. My only hope…that future holders and distributors will sign the book to the next, and then the next so that the trail can be read…and valued. As a book collector, I love to find old books and I can sense the hands that have held and the path such books traveled...fascinating to see the signature and date trail. I dream this path for Dear Daisy.
Hardcover was the choice. Despite costs for producing a hard cover 386 page book, the author wanted to reproduce the feel and quality of a book that would have been created during the era of 1959-the 60's. The details of what is chosen for each book is part of the signature of that book and each book has a unique publishing path. I believe this to be true.
So this is where the story began, back with a relationship between a young child down on a fruit farm in Upstate New York, learning the wisdom of her annual harvest migrating friend, Daisy. Sitting under the cherry or apple trees, on Daisy's front porch, moments were recorded through heart.
Turn the page...so this is where the re-telling of the story began, 1999 as Daisy, her spiritual teacher of childhood returned to lead this grown child back Home.
To know the story, the depth...why it began...the steps along the path...the ending
well, you'll have to turn the page...
May you find Dear Daisy "a keeper"

PS Here's a little piece I wrote. Not in Dear Daisy, but rather reflects the theme of the book and the path I am on.
