ein reli-giöses und sittliches Leben geführt haben, ihren religiösen
Pflichten stets getreulich nachgekommen sind, und sich des besten Rufes
erfreut haben. Ferner wird bezeuget daß die genannten arm sind, und
auf ihrer Reise nach Amerika welche sie zum Zwecke verbesserung ihrer
mißlichen Lage mit ihren Eltern Johann und Magdalena Fastner und ihren
sechs Kindern und zwar: 1. Anna /: Fastner :/ 16 Jahre alt, /: durch

is hereby attested by the Roman Catholic clergy that the married couple
Wenzel and Katarina Fastner, working-class people from Solka, in the
Duchy of Bukovina, in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, are both of the
Catholic religion, have always led a religious and moral life, have
faithfully fulfilled all their religious duties, and have enjoyed the
best of reputations. It is further attested that the above
named people are poor, and that in their journey to America, which they
have undertaken with the purpose of improving their unfortunate
situation, with their parents Johann and Magdalena Fastner, and their
six children and (illegible). 1. Anna [illegible], 16 years old (legitimized by the subsequent marriage), 2. Leopold, 12 years old, 3. Maria, 8 years old, 4. Josefa, 6 years old, 5. Philomena, 4 years old, and 6. Emilia, 3 months old, they are deserving of all possible consideration and favorable treatment, and are highly recommended for such.
