The Austell Ambassador's meet the third Tuesday every month from 2:45-4:00.
During this time, we learn about one of the four themes: poverty, education, health or sustainable development. We discuss the theme in relation to South Asia, our assigned area of the world, and in our own community.
After we learn more about the theme, we work on creating and advertising a fundraising theme to take place in the month between meetings.
Our goal is to raise $1,000, which is enough money for fill a classroom with school supplies for the year. Check out the events below to see what we've been doing and to check out our progress!

Our goal was to raise $1,000 for school supplies for a South Asian classroom. So far this year we raised over $1,300!! We are so proud of our club members and our community. Since our club decided it was important to share some money with community flood victims and victims of Haiti, we donated about $500 to outlets supporting those initiatives. Therefore, we would like to raise just $200 more dollars to send to South Asia so we can meet our $1,000 goal for a classroom in South Asia.Keep your eyes peeled and ears open for what you can do to help! Thanks again everyone for all the work you have done so far! |

Our school community is devastated by the destruction the earthquake caused in Haiti. Many students and teachers have family and Haiti, so the Austell Ambassadors want to do our part in helping out. Part of our bracelet sale money will go towards helping Haiti. Also, we are going to start a Helping Haiti Count on Change drive. We will have competition to see which grade can bring in the most change. A jar for each grade level will be placed on the stage in the cafeteria each day. Bring in your change to help make a change! |

The students have been asking for them, so we're ordering more just in time for Valentine's Day! For $1.00 a piece and 6 different bracelets to choose from, it's a great deal! First come first served, so hurry!

Thursday, March 3rd is Austell Intermediate's Fine Arts Night! Our club has worked hard to raise money for South Asia, as well as Haiti and our own community. At our last club meeting, we worked on raising awareness. We created four large pillars. We split into four groups to draw pictures and share facts about education, poverty, health, and sustainable development. Also, we created poems and wrote stories to spread awareness, too. We will hang all of writing and art on the Austell Ambassador wall (the world mural near the cafeteria).
Club members: please come to Fine Arts night at 6:30 to share with all the families who visit! We need to continue to educate our community!
Friends and family: please stop by our display to learn about what it is like in some parts of South Asia and why we need your help.
We will be accepting donations and selling the last few bracelets as well.
See you there! |

The first fund raiser of the year was a great success! We were selling pencils to publicize our $1,000 goal to provide school supplies to a classroom for a year. We made it a grade level competition! The grade level who raised the most money, we awarded extra recess time! But the students had to be careful, if the teacher's raised the most money, the whole school would loose recess! First place - 3rd grade Second place - 2nd grade Third place - 4th grade Fourth place - 5th grade Last place - teachers Overall, we raised over two hundred dollars! What an amazing school community! We couldn't have done it without everyone's help!
Our second fundraiser was a bake sale during our Fall Festival. Thank you to all the club members and their families for making such delicious fall treats that raised nearly $200.00 for a school in South Asia!

The 2008-2009 school year was the first year of our club. We were excited to have 29 members grades 2-5. Nearly all of the members from last year returned and they brought their friends! This year we have 92 members with almost equal representation across all grade levels! |
