Summary

Information is power and today's main communications medium is the Internet.  Does your Web site present your key messages and resources effectively, and offer interactive options for your target audiences?  I can boost the power of your Web site by:

  • Assessing your Web site's appeal with your target audiences
  • Editing copy to engage your audience with fewer words
  • Conducting usability testing so that flaws in navigation and design can be found and fixed before the launch of a new site
  • Facilitating a Web redesign by working with designers and programmers on content migration and testing new features.
Key Accomplishments:

Management of Web Site Redesigns

Currently I have worked on the redesign of the main site of the U.S. Administration on Aging, www.AoA.gov.  My role in this redesign included Web editing, writing, developing a Web content style guide, coaching content owners in the best practices of Web writing, and moderating usability testing. I also made recommendations for the redesign of another AoA site, www.Eldercare.gov that offers extensive guidance and resources for caregivers.

I have also managed a successful Web site redesign for the American Gastroenterological Association. As the lead manager on this project I worked with designers and programmers on all aspects of the redesign including the editorial review of all content and testing all features prior to the launch of the new site. The new site features user-friendly navigation, new interactive features, and useful new content.

Web Articles

I have written engaging articles for e-newsletters, Web copy for redesigned sites, and the findings of usability testing. Read my articles and other writing.

Development of Micro Sites

I produce micro sites for clients. The WIIT Charitable Trust site features the projects and goals of The WIIT Charitable Trust.  This organization seeks to educate the public about critical global trade issues. My work included producing templates, creating images, writing and editing text, and producing Web analysis reports.
