Audrey S. Bernstein received her B.F.A. from Cornell University and her M.F.A. from Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York. She has been teaching for the past twenty years at universities such as Long Island University, International Center of Photography, St. John’s University and Hofstra University. In the last few years, her work has been exhibited in many one-woman shows in New York, in addition to numerous shows in Europe. ![]() Her photographs are included in the collection at the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, and have been published in three recent publications: Visions of Angels, Photomontage and A Step-by-Step Guide to Building Pictures and Exploring Color Photography. She is the recipient of two New York State Foundation for the Arts Fellowships; one in 1991 and one in 1987. In the summer of 1999, Audrey’s work was included in a juried show, at The Alternative Museum in New York. In March of 2001, her work was selected for a show on the Holocaust at the 92nd Street Y in New York City as well as a one woman show at Saint Peter’s Church in New York City in October 2001.
Audrey Sackner-Bernstein’s work has been on the cover of Time Magazine as well as numerous other magazines. Her commercial work specializes in record covers and editorial work and her clients include Patti Smith, Lou Reed and Daryl Hall and The Velvet Underground. |
