Have you ever heard us mention a shear bolt before? Some times we call them shear pins. They're about two inches long and they're basically a safety "valve" for the snowblower. If the snowblower runs into anything other than snow, like a tree or rock, the shear pin breaks and prevents major damage to the blower.

This is why god invented the snowblower.

A light snow takes maybe 40 minutes to clear this whole thing; the slushy mess from the ice/sleet storm early this winter took closer to 4 hours. AND snapped a shear bolt on the 'blower to boot.
