Have you ever wanted to sit down to read a book, but you had too many things that you had to get done? Have you ever wished that you could listen to something entertaining while driving on long trips or commuting to work each day?

This was my inspiration to find not only entertainment, but also quality stories that have sparked the imaginations of many generations. I wanted to feed my mind with thoughts of "what if" that would make my work, chores, or travel seem to go by much faster.

What I discovered was a wonderful treasure of rich vocabulary, fantastic adventures, and a peek back in time to what life was like as much as 150 years ago. I was so impressed with these stories that I began to examine my other forms of entertainment (movies, TV, video games, etc.). I found that they paled in comparison since they generally required me to be in one place and didn't allow me to easily do other things while I watched TV or played games.

As I sat by the fire, I mused upon these things and decided to create my own entertainment that I could listen to anywhere during work, play, travel, while laying in bed on a sleepless night, exercising, or any time I wanted. After several scores of hours of toiling with writing new scripts, asking for help from friends and family, and changing my file naming convention a couple of times, the results of all my efforts is what you see in my Library of Books today.

Once I created a couple dozen of these treasures for myself, and listened to them, I was convinced that others would enjoy them as well. For those who might have the time, and enjoy, reading the stories on portable devices (e.g., iPod, smart phone, Palm Pilot, eBook reader, etc.) I included the original text along with the audio files for every book. The next challenge was to find an inexpensive way to distribute them to potential customers and offer such a low price that anyone could afford to buy them for themselves, their friends, and family (so buy several copies of your favorite book to give away, and add a few new titles for yourself as well… go on, you know your worth it!).

And now you know why I am dedicated to providing classic literature, as both eBooks (text) and Audio Books (mp3) in one compressed archive (zip), for $2.00 per book. All books are available for immediate purchase (with a credit card through PayPal) and download (through an email link).

I can do this because all of my books are part of the public domain, meaning the original stories are no longer under copyright protection in the United States. This allows me convert those works to audio format, using a high quality computer generated voice, and market it as a new, copyrighted work. The results are a consistent product that provides hours of entertainment and contemplation.

The first chapter of every book is available as a free sample to download. Just look for the "Sample" link to the right of the book listing in my Library of Books, or at the top of each "Details" page by using the "Details" link next to each book listing.

My current Library of Books can be found in the navigation bar on the left. I am continually working to add more books to my library, so check back soon to see my newly expanded selection.

Do you have a favorite classic book that you want to see available as an audio book? Just send me an email with the title and I will research it to see if it is part of the public domain. If I can find a copy, I will be happy to convert it and add it to my Library of Books. As always, I can be contacted via email at: andrewggrant@gmail.com.
