The American Eagles finished 2-2 after a weekend of home openers this past Saturday and Sunday.  They won their first game on Saturday morning against Loyola 2-0.

French player Max Darfeuille scored the first goal in the second half.  Darfeuille also netted the second goal off a reverse sweep from the left corner.  Freshman goalie Amy Farina captured her first college shutout with help from a strong defensive line including standouts, sophomore Kendall Byl and senior Bryan Avolio.

The Eagles fell 2-1 to the Virginia Tech Hokies in their second game of the day.  Carla Villavicencio and Lauren Allen held strong in the midfield but the Hokies offense was able to get off more shots.  Darfeuille scored the Eagles' lone goal.

Sunday opened with a 3-2 victory over Navy.  It was a close match tied up at 2-2 for a while, but the Eagles offense was able to net a third goal to win the game.

For the final game of the weekend the Eagles lost to the University of Delaware with a final score of 3-1.  Senior Alexa Marymor and freshman Alex Lewis were standouts on offense, while sophomores Christina Goggin and Caitrin Anderson held strong on defense.
