AU Club Field Hockey is a young team; the club was founded in the Fall of 2009, so we are in our third year.  AUCFH has many start up costs that must be covered, such as uniforms, practice balls, and goalie equipment.  Other than school funding, our budget is self-generated through fundraising and group dues.  The school pays for about 50% of our yearly budget.

     This past fall of 2008 was AUCFH's first competitive season as a club team in the National Field Hockey League.  In order to compete, we must host tournaments and games and also attend them at other schools.  The NFHL requires that we play 7 games each fall.  This requires a referee fee for home games and funds for travel such as gas, rental cars, and hotel rooms for away games.  As a team, we decided to be a year-round sport, so we also competed this past spring.  In the future, we'd like to host and attend more games and tournaments.

     In order to be competitive, we must have proper practice time.  Between varsity, club, and intramural sports, field space on campus is difficult to come by.  AUCFH would like to find a local school or public park for field space, and this could require a fee.

     Heidi, our coach, graciously volunteers her time and expertise, and we would love to compensate her for all of her work and dedication.
