After graduating from law school, Richard Winkie worked as an attorney for a plaintiff’s personal injury firm, where he gained valuable courtroom and pleading experience.
Mr. Winkie second-chaired a Jackson County premises liability suit that resulted in a jury award of $350,000 in favor of his client.
Mr. Winkie also clerked with this firm during law school, gaining valuable experience in a wide range of personal injury matters.

Other Employment
Prior to his decision to go to law school, Richard Winkie had a long career with the University of Missouri Health Care system, including four years as the Workers’ Compensation Coordinator.

Mr. Winkie has also worked as a security officer and as a park ranger.

Personal

Richard Winkie is the son of a career Army serviceman, and spent his early years in or around military bases in New Mexico, Texas, the Marshall Islands and West Germany. He graduated from a rural north-central Missouri high school with a graduating class of only 21 students. At 6 foot, 6 inches, he was an automatic starter for his school’s basketball team. Following graduation, he spent fourteen years living in and around Columbia, Missouri, attending the University of Missouri-Columbia and working for the University of Missouri Health Care system. He is married to his Administrative Assistant, Annika and you will see their two year old "Office Manager" Arianna running the office with a "binkie" in one hand and her Daddy wrapped around the other.
