International Alexander Technique Awareness Week 2009: October 10th - 18th This coincides with Back Care Week; quite appropriate after the research showing how much people with low back pain benefitted from AT lessons with STAT-registered teachers. To celebrate, there will be offers and events around Bristol, including: - Throughout October Christine English is offering taster sessions at both clinics; a snip at only £10 for 30 minutes 12th - 18th Gudi Schepokat will run an in-house Alexander Technique residency at St Georges,Bristol. She will give complimentary lessons to all performing artists,staff and stewards as well as mini-talks to orchestras and audiences. St Georges is delighted to promote the benefits of the technique. Wednesday 14th Bethan Evans and Lisa Clarke will run group introductory sessions at the University of Bristol Sports centre (Tyndall Ave) from 2 - 3pm. Wednesday 14th Lisa Clarke will give an introductory talk about the AT at the Clifton Practice, starting at 7pm - all welcome. Also on Wednesday 21st October. Wednesday 14th Bristol Alexander Technique Training School in Long Ashton extend the invitation to join them between 10 - 11am. See their website for details. Thursday 15th Bethan Evans and Lisa Clarke will run group introductory sessions at the University of Bristol Sports centre (Tyndall Ave) from 4 - 5pm. Friday 16th Drop-in session at the Coexist Canteen at Hamilton House with Petra Jones and Bethan Evans. Saturday 17th Bethan Evans and Lisa Clarke will hold an informal session for AT pupils and those who want to find out about the AT - come along to hear about it from people who have lessons as well as from the teachers. 2.00 - 3.30pm at the Berkeley Centre, Clifton. Sunday 18th Bethan Evans will be at the Better Food Company, St Werburghs from 11am - 3pm. Drop in to find out more about AT and possibly even have a free 'taster'.
