Beta development progress, update overdue

posted Mar 11, 2009 6:35 AM by Joe Luchette   [ updated Mar 11, 2009 9:04 AM ]

We just wanted to thank everyone for their interest in the beta site of AtlasAlive hosted by MapServing. We have been hard at work integrating everyones feedback into the application and building a premier hosting service for all of you. Our next update is LONG overdue and we apologize for that. But here is what you will be getting.

- Parameterized queries/map searches! Thats right, finally... And, the administrator will have several advanced ways to populate the dropdown list of parameter selections, inlcuding using a field from a drawing to dynamically populate the list, or defining min, max and steps, or using a sliding bar. It is very cool, I cant wait to get some feedback on it.

-Interface: Of course, the interface is changing slightly again... We are very adament that we make the mapping interface as intuitive as possible for both the GIS users and the non-GIS users viewing the map, so we will keep tweaking it til we get it right.

Thanks!
