The Atlantic NEW CULTURES Competition is a writing
contest promoting cultural expression in Atlantic Canada relating to the themes
of immigration, migration and/or cultural diversity or a heritage of cultural diversity. The contest
is open to all those who reside or who have previously resided in Atlantic Canada
(this includes students and other temporary residents). Interested writers are
invited to submit an original, unpublished work in one of the following or
related genres:
- Short stories
- Poetry/Spoken Word
- Creative memoir
- Plays
- Monologues
- Works in translation
The top prize is valued at $1000, with a $250 second prize and $100 for third. Competition closes OCTOBER 16, 2009. See other pages for details. For questions, please email robert.nathan@dal.ca.
