no, it's not a sari. A sari is litteraly just a really long piece of silk that you wrap around and around and flip over your shoulder. it's difficult to move, and apparently nearly impossible to use a squat toilet.
this is a salwar camise, which is also called a punjab suit, sometimes pajama suit. it's a long tunic top and loose trousers, as well as a "dupita" shawl to airily flip over your shoulders. You can see the colors- indian women wear, full body, colors that we would shy from in the west- neon green and puke yellow, orange and pink together, and black only shows up if it is an intricately nedlepointed shawl.
