Appalachian Trail...
The Appalachian Trail is one of the longest and most famous hiking trails in the United States.  Spanning fourteen states and 2178.3 miles, the trail contains some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country.  Though nearly 4 million people visit the trail each year, less than 1500 people actually attempt to hike the entire trail (commonly known as thru-hiking).  Of those who attempt this great feat, only 1 in 5 is successful.

This website/blog will offer you the opportunity to follow Kate, Emily, and Brandon as they attempt to beat the odds and successfully complete a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail between March to August, 2010.
