This main page is where you will find daily updates/changes to regularly scheduled games or practices.

The Rosters have been set for the 1st games on Monday.  They can be found in the navigation bar to the left. Rosters are flexible and change often.  Illness, absence, improved play, etc can lead to a last minute change.  Your player will get the news as soon as it can be decided.  Please remember - we will try to play everyone on the GREEN team as equally as possible. It is possible that player may have an opportunity to play in both games to work on two different positions, Ex: play back-up catcher in an BLACK game and start at 2nd in a GREEN game. Or play a position in the BLACK game and Pitch the GREEN game.

The Junior High Baseball Team is need of a new pitching machine.  I have signed us up to sell concessions at a home football game. We have been promised a game and will find out which one in the near future. I have asked one of the mothers to oversee the scheduling of workers for the football game.  Please help out in our 1-night fundraiser. No door-to-door candy, wrapping paper etc.. Just one night of selling food and drinks at a home varsity football game. 

Also, parents are being asked to help sell concessions at our home games.  It only takes 1 person and you can stand and watch the game between sales.  The team will earn 25% of proceeds for the entire home season.  I will have a sign-up sheet at the PRACTICE GAME.

One final note: I know that many of you will want to take your players home from each game.  I will have a sign-out sheet for each game.  I am now looking for a parent who is going to be at all/most of the B games that will be willing to pass the sheet around each game and return to me after the game.  This will speed the process for all involved.  Anyone willing to help with this please email me before Monday.

Baseball is different than other sports in that the players get to keep part of their uniform. We have always charged the kids cost for hats and socks.  I will check the invoice and post the actual $ amount later today - but it will be in the neighborhood of $20.  We will have extra hats for parents to purchase as well.  $16.00 - Please make checks payable to Athens CUSD 213.

Please take note****As a high school principal, there are numerous duties that may require short-notice changes.  While I will do what I can to avoid such changes - they will occur.  I am lucky to have an assistant like Coach Heavner. With experience as a head coach, he will be very capable when asked to take the reins on occasion.
